Somehow easy_install got run with /usr/bin/python which is python 2.3 rather than /opt/bin/python which is 2.4. I'm sure my PATH is correct, and when I ran it again, the same thing happened. TG got installed in 2.3. I renamed the /usr/bin/python binary and ran again and it installed OK in 2.4. Not sure what's going on there. Anyway, it starts with the original script now.
