Well, I'm just sticking a simple variable in the session like this:
cherrypy.session.acquire_lock()
cherrypy.session['SOMEVAR'] = 'someval'

I restarted the server not using flup, but with cherrypy serving the
site itself, and guess what, same problem.  Next I'll eliminate the
on-disk sessions and see if that is the problem.
