Funny enough, I just did a silly mashup for Mashup Camp 2 (http://www.mashupcamp.com/) that takes a different spin on captchas: http://hotcaptcha.com/ It's written in TurboGears, of course. It's hardly the most attractive thing out there - it was a quickie job done the night before camp started.
