I updated the Debian package in experimental to 0.9a8 with some minor patching; in particular, the toolbox problem which was not letting catwalk work alright is fixed in the package, though I dropped the setuptools and kid requirements since kid 0.9.1 is still in Debian, and setuptools is still not updated to the "c" series.
