[TurboGears] Questions about building MarbleGears

I ordered a MarbleGears set with my TurboGears Ultimate DVD. There weren’t any instructions, so after I put it together and installed it on my desk, there were two left-over pieces, the little black axels. Where do those go??? I tried putting them on the crenulated staircase, between the crenuls, but they fell off after some particularly turbulent marble action.
