One thing I like about off-line bookstores is that have their books
organized per niche. I think that the key to any web stores with a wide
inventory is to create small niche areas or specialty shops, in which
pears can add content, news and recommend books. Personally I love to
recommend good books, especially because there are so many crappy books
out there.

I also belief that one needs to differentiate between customers. E.g, a
customer that is looking for a fantasy book/serie has very different
needs from one that is looking for 'Rapid Web Applications with
TurboGears ' ;). If you're trying to build a community around your
store, you really need to make the customers feel at home.
