As regards your suggestion, I'm in favour, on the grounds that generalising any mechanism is almost always a "good thing", provided the added complexity is not visible when using the simple case. (It would be a _really_ bad idea to make the newbies' on-ramp even a tiny bit steeper!) In practice, not sure how much it would be used -- for most people, projects are either one-offs, or a copy of something very similar from their the past, so perhaps the main use would be in generating a variety of official TG starting-points.
Maybe a utility to copy/rename an existing project would be more useful for most people? [topic branch] If you're visiting the quickstart stuff, there's another tiny aspect which I think could do with a little attention... Most config files for other apps have non-default options commented out, in such a way that removing/re-inserting the comment character at the start of the line is the only required change to switch settings (for Booleans, at least). All tg files have a commented-out default setting. This feels like a waste of keystrokes! -- Kim --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
