Theoretically, templates are valid XML, so they need this.  And they can also
be seen on your browser so that you check your design.  Of course, special
things that are generated by CP / TG / etc. won't work, but at least you'll be
able to edit the document in some web authoring tool such as vi, emacs or
DreamWeaver ;-)
