Are you deploying to WebFaction with an egg of your app?
It sounds like your TG 1.0b1 is not being used. There are a couple of
things you can do to see what you're getting:
python
>>> import pkg_resources
>>> pkg_resources.require("TurboGears")
That will tell you what version of TG is being picked up (and from
where).
You can also, independently, just do
>>> import turbogears
>>> turbogears.__file__
