As long as your project is going well I wouldn't worry about it too much. You will come to understand the language better with time, and will recognize where improvements are needed with that understanding. Without seeing much code I can't really offer much in the way of comments, but this article might give you a couple of things to think about. It was written from the perspective of moving from Java to Python, but some of the ideas are very useful.
