[TurboGears] TuboGears app as Joomla component?

I'm new to TurboGears, but not to Python.  I'm developing Joomla components (plugins) in PHP, which is the standard way to do it.  Two questions:  is it possible to develop Joomla components using TurboGears or Python, and how hard is it?  Thanks for all responses!
