Genshi rocks, I'm using it for everything now (the 0.3.x stable branch from svn). Converting the templates is not hard... it's several X faster, and it actually tells you what line# in your template is causing a problem.
Kid has its strengths, but Genshi is waaaay better, IMO. I've yet to hear of a downside to switching, aside from the small amount of work to convert existing templates.
