I've seen several projects that use either the Turbo-* or *-Gears patterns without drawing any flack. I even have one myself. I wouldn't mind seeing a community convention of TurboGears-derived names using Turbo-* for client-facing portions and *-Gears for app development services, but that is getting really silly and I have no ability to enforce such a thing anyways.
