As someone who has been churning through the online docs in the last few days, I humbly submit my opinions on priorities for the doc sprints:
- It seems many docs are not obviously referenced from the main doc start page making finding some stuff hard. There needs to be a current tree style approach to all the various elements. I personally think it would be best if these elements focus mostly on one thing so they can be done in any order, past the basic one of getting a site on of course. - versioning info is a problem right now ( I'm sure this is known ) - the hardest stuff to find clear organized current docs on appears to me to be validation ( form encode ) and after that widgets. Both those left me in a bit of a versioning haze and required much googling. I think a clear tutorial of making a form, adding widgets, and then adding a validation scheme with code all aimed at 1.0 would be really useful right now - I think complete code samples that are known good for current release would be a great addendum to all current docs - There are a *lot* of links to tutorial floating around the net that now go to the "this moved" page on turbogears.org. Except they don't go to a pointer for where that specific tutorial went so it's really frustrating - I got very confused as to when I should be looking on Trac and when on the doc homepage. They seem rather out of sync with each other I have been keeping notes and would like to help out with it all after my next week deadline has passed ( hopefully successfully! ) Thanks for all the stuff that's up documenters! =) Iain --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
