I am successfully using code like this on a TG project. Try pulling Kid out of the equation: pull the result up in your browser, do a view source & save the source, then open up the static page to see what happens.
Puzzling, true, but I doubt that this has anything to do with TG/Kid. Are you sure you have JavaScript turned on in your browser?
