Probably, but the point is that your URL's won't conform to the RFC's
so anything else that might want to use your site may have a problem
with them.  You're better off just making sure that the data is
escaped before the request is sent.

I agree with you for most cases, but not all.  Searches are one case
where RESTful url's aren't really nessecary and, in some cases, aren't
desired.
