The 'grouper' example in the python docs chapter 6.5.3 (itertools
section) can be usefull if you need to chop a iterable into small fixed
sized chunks ( eg. rows).
def grouper(n, iterable, padvalue=None):
"grouper(3, 'abcdefg', 'x') --> ('a','b','c'), ('d','e','f'),
('g','x','x')"
return izip(*[chain(iterable, repeat(padvalue, n-1))]*n)
