I understand that unit tests are good and nice, but the features
broken by -not- applying this fix outweigh the advantages of a hard-
line approach to tests. On every system I have TurboGears running
I've had to hand-apply the patch to allow me to specify the default
output format, site template, and encoding options on Kid. These are
features I (and the company I work for, and our clients, et. al.)
flat-out require. Every project we've done and are currently working
on needs these three features.

I was quite surprised when the patch wasn't committed for the 1.0b1
release. Then doubly surprised when it wasn't fixed in 1.0b2.
