Perhaps they should just be removed because at best, they are extraneous and at worst -- they confuse the situation. The two remaining attributes: background-color and width do effect the widget's display.
In fact I just patched the existing css with the selector needed for the datagrid rendering, and cleaned-up the spaces for consistency sake. I did not undertake a full cleanup of the whole CSS because I wanted my patch to be easy to review for a possible commiter.
