There was a TurboGears-1.0b2-py2.4.egg directory under /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current/lib/python2.4/site-packages which I removed. All the other installed directories are 'singular', e.g. there are no obsolete versions of anything else. The first installation was 1.0b2 only a couple of days ago, and I had just done the 1.0 upgrade late today.
I would have expected the tgsetup.py script would handle any such cleanup, or better yet, point everything to latest package versions.
Still the same symptom, though. I'll try Win/Linux next. Probably I need to completely remove TurboGears and start over, even if that means uninstalling and reinstalling the Python installation. Yeesh.
