I'm using SQLAlchemy, I never used SQLObject. About templates, actualy I'm using kid and genshi, I tried to convert all my kid templates to genshi but some widgets didn't work well with genshi like DatePicker (at least at the time I did this attempt). I would like also pass to ToscaWidgets. I tried to migrate from widgets to ToscaWidget without success :-( .
