Yes, we probably can, but it does not have proper unicode support, AFAIK.

That might work for those packages, where the included C module only
links to libc and libpthreads. pysqlite also links to libsqlite3, and
this will probably have a different version under other Ubuntu releases.

I'll upload them as soon as I have access to that other machine again
(mid-saturday CET). But if you have a vmware image, why don't you make
two copies of it and go along the steps I outlined and use one of the
images to build the eggs and the other to test them?
