We've got TG set up on a CentOS machine (can't recall version), and we
did something similar to Ed's solution.  We have "python" and
"python24".  All TG stuff goes through python24.

Whatever you do, do NOT change the system python...it makes life difficult.

There may be other solutions out there too...workingenv, etc can
perhaps help with keeping  python modules isolated,etc.
