I'm sorry I got lost on the middle I believe this is a temporal thing right?
if so why not just host it on your server put a redirect meta on the main
"cheap" hosting and tell them look I haven't fix that but don't worry your
URLs will be fine on the finish site. in the end this is a demo right?

now in all other cases the solution seems non-temporal in which case either
your client is wrong because he/she bought a crappy hosting or your wrong
because you sold it to them, in either way it's your fault for buying crap
that will make your code look like crap, and we all know that end users
don't care and that the owner of the site will say it's your fault not the
crappy hosting he/she bought.
