Basically, I got the utidylib py-wrapper-to-tidylib working. The HTML content returned by the legacy app is "tidied" up into XHTML. The only pre-requisite is that the ill-formed html should be stripped of of all newlines. The cleaned up xhtml is stripped of unneccessary content and is substituted in the kid template as usual. No file-based processing is required.
