The name attribute was deprecated for the a, applet, form, frame,
iframe, img, and map elements, but not for input, select, textarea,
etc. As you suggest, you may have several similar form elements which
share the same name to be submitted as a list, but you may still want
them to have different ids to manipulate them with CSS or Javascript.

PS. You're not the musician by the same name, are you?
