Hello Group,

i´m asking myself the same questions...

i have a more or less complex application, which i would like to proxy
through a ssl engine.

accessing the app directly is amazing fast ;-)

but when i try to proxy it through apache/ssl it´s becomes
veeeeeerrryyyyyy slow.
then i tried to replace the apache with lighttpd - but the result is
more or less the same. - page-loading takes (varying) 10-120 seconds
through the proxy where it takes 1-10 seconds directly.

all the things (tg app, database, apache) are run on a dedicated dual
xeon 3.06 ghz with 3 gb of ram - so it should not be a machine
performance-issue, neither an apache issue, since the server is
hosting some (but not many) other internal sites directly, too.

are there any settings for the mod_proxy module, or should it just
work out-of-the-box?

Regards, Frank
