Hi Diez, Thanks for the tip on RemoteForm - I had anticipated this problem and vaguely plan on avoiding it by using many RemoteForms each containing a single FileFields and using JS to submit the whole form.
Having said that I think you missed the line "I decided to start by getting FileFields and uploadfilter to work but it is proving tricky." There is no RemoteForm of any kind involved yet ... I realise that I could have used a better word than completion - what I meant was I want a thumbnail as per FileFields existing functionality. http://cheeseshop.python.org/pypi/FileFields/0.1a6.dev-r612 The thumbnail is generated from a server side temporary file after the image is uploaded but before the entire form is submitted (which is what I meant by 'completion'). This serves two purposes - firstly should other fields in the form fail validation the user won't have to upload all the images again and secondly it looks nice and allows us the refuse an image immediately thus avoiding a user selecting several pictures for upload and waiting an age only to have them all refused for some reason. I appreciate that there will be some contention between the many RemoteForms - the overall Form and I have yet to bottom out my thoughts on that ... It dawns on me that if I give each upload file it's own form to submit I can achieve the functionality of FileFields but perhaps avoid the issues by managing the resultant temporary files myself. If anybody is following this has anything to add please do. Much appreciated, AJ On May 22, 4:27 pm, "Diez B.
