I've just tried it, but without success.

Lets say I want to click on a link, the URL will be correct, but the web
server will then drop the <location /path> to return to root.

apache : <Location  /demo/vimba_ibs/>
RewriteEngine on
    ProxyPass http://127.0.0.1:8080/
ProxyPassReverse http://127.0.0.1:8080/
RequestHeader set CP-Location  /
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://localhost:8080/$1 [P]
        </Location>

dev.cfg : server.webpath = "/demo/"
tg.url : href="myhost.com/demo//client" (good)

result : myhost.com/client instead myhost.com/demo//client (cherrypy
receive ///client instead of /demo//client)
