from the REST point of view it doesn't matter if its page/7/edit or page/edit/7
as long as its unique for each resource (7). the definitely more common thing is the 2nd one, and it´s cherrypy's native way of doing it. it´s been a while that i read the book, but isn't the part you´re referring to also about rewrite rules?
