Sorry, but i can't understand what is your problem. Why you are installing TurboGears using apt ?? Why you don't try installing it with easy_install ? No other python module will be be overwritten and if you want you can even remove the package easly. In addition you can install TuboGears using virtual-python wich create a python enviroment in your home directory.
