If you're a bit willing to experament tg2 should have some things that you'll want for scalability (memcached support) and should work reasonably well now.
ToscaWidgets aren't integrated into the tg2, and there's no automatic transaction system yet (but you can definitely create transactions on your own). One other thought, if scalability is a primary concern you may want to consider using Mako for at least some of your templates. It is significantly faster than Genshi and it works great.
