Hi all, the most awaited 1.0.4b1 version of TurboGears is out. It contains a lot of improvements and maybe some regressions :)
The main feature is on the SQLAlchemy side, we now support SA 0.4 if you want to use it but still work very well with SA 0.3.10. In this beta version SA 0.4 will be installed as a requirement but we may surely change this back in the official release to avoid the deprecation warnings that will stay here. Those deprecation warnings will go out completely in TG 1.1 (it is already the case in head version of 1.1) but this will provoke some incompatibilities with old applications so the changes will not be put into the 1.0 branch. If you start a new project using the normal (not big) quickstart template for sqlalchemy (using tg-admin quickstart -s) you will receive a slightly different model.py as the one you were used to: it has been updated and is ready to work with no changes in an TG 1.1. You can find the changelog here: http://trac.turbogears.org/wiki/ChangeLog When 1.0.4 is out it is intended to be the last 1.0 version. (apart from important bugfixes). The next active branch will be the 1.1 which will introduce new defaults: SQLAlchemy, Genshi...
