I can't say for sure whether it's a useful patch or not as I've never run into this problem myself. However, if you can apply the patch to the latest 1.x branch and all the tests still pass for paginate, and you write some tests to cover this new functionality, I don't see why something like this wouldn't be able to be applied. I still don't quite get how you're submitting data *and* having paginate controls on the same page. However, I've seen neither your code nor your workflow so it could be a very valid use. Your other option is just to create the pagination link's href yourself using the paginate data available via the tg.paginate instance.
