Hey Andre, if you are just beginning with Mochikit, you may want to look at jQuery instead. I really like Mochikit too, but it is not under active development anymore. This is fine, it does what it is supposed to do, but it means there is a far smaller active Mochikit community and a lot of momentum behind jQuery. Of the js platforms out there, IMHO jQuery is the best alternative if you like the mochikit style.
