Sorry, I wasn't clear about something as I'm just a newbie with this stuff.....
You *can* use tg.url in Javascript code if you embed that code in a script element *DIRECTLY* into a Kid template. You just can't use tg.url in a Javascript file that you load with a script element's src attribute from a static file. Being able to use tg.url in Javascript in Kid templates is good enough for most purposes I suppose.
