We have a worldwide TG1/TG2/WSGI sprint scheduled for the 19th (this coming Saturday).
Please sign up here if you can help out: http://docs.turbogears.org/SprintSeries2008 TG2 is rapidly approaching our first release. I think we're ready in terms of code -- we just need to test out our docs, and get some infrastructure up and running. So, there's a real possibility we could do a release the Friday before, or the Monday after his sprint! Here are the core things that need to happen: * We need a new landing page for TG2 on Turbogears.org * We need to post the new docs. * We need to organize, test, and clean up a few remaining docs. * We need to finalize the documentation on authentication/authorization stuff TG 1.1 has been moving forward quickly this week too, and there are a number of tasks to do on that front as well. * Update 1.1 documentation * Do any of the things here: http://docs.turbogears.org/1.1/DevPlans Of course, if you want some more technically interesting stuff to do on TG2, there are lots of other important tasks. * Get TG2 to work on Google App Engine * add support for .html, .json, and other mime-types in URL's (to indicate the requested response format) * Update the template rendering process to use the new render_gehshi and render_mako functions from Pylons * Implementing a good set of paster quickstart tests (Chris P started this). * Move the TG2 test coverage from 93% to 100%. * Add documetation/support for multi-database configurations * Add support for two-phase commit in multi-database configuraitons * Add documentaiton/support for using TG2 with ZODB * Add documentation/support for using TG2 with the Google Datastore The biggest of these items is getting TG2 working on app engine -- and the biggest hurdles were getting Genshi and Mako to work without the parser module, and getting paste to import properly (due to it's reliance on various os and sys modules that don't exist in the App Engine environment). It appears that significant progress has been made on all these fronts. So, it would be very helpful if someone could look through all this, find out what's done what's remaining be done, and create some tickets for this stuff in advance of the sprint. If you want to work on the App Engine stuff and you don't have an account let me know and I'll see if I can't get you access.
