Another problem is the compatibility and availablitly of TG 1.0 components and libraries (particularly RuleDispatch) with Py 2.6. I assume these will be solved, an TG 1.0 will eventually run on Py 2.6, but not on Py 3.0 (since RuleDispatch and CherryPy will most surely not be ported to Py 3.0).
