I'm not sure about running behind Apache or HTTPS, but here's how it
works in my app:
from turbogears.toolbox.catwalk import CatWalk
...
class Root(controllers.RootController):
catwalk=CatWalk(model)
catwalk = identity.SecureObject(catwalk,identity.in_group('admin'))
That's it!
