It's a whole framework of tools for a programmer to create highly dynamic web-apps. I have always been turned off a bit with web development just because of the number of skills you need to learn to make a good site. Ajax, CSS, HTML, DOM, Javascript, etc, etc. And developing with Ajax seems messy to me. TG turned me on right away, and I really do like it, but Flex wraps all of the things you gain from those technologies into one API, with a great set of widgets and tools. And it looks great. I guess my complaint is with the too many web technologies for making nice *looking* and highly interactive apps. Even in TG. I think the other Flex turn on is that it's stateful. It's much more comfortable and easier to write apps with state, than storing this var in a cookie, and this one in a session, etc, etc > That said I know many people use TG as a backend for Flex apps, as > someone provided a link to a video also I see several questions on the > list regarding it (which means support), and we had a lot of hype from > Bruce Eckel's stuff. That video is what turned me on to Flex. Been using TG as a back-end ever since. > So I'll say this, from a viewers perspective, TG is probably the best > python framework for Flex. Agreed... and sorry to stir the pot. I just wish there was a way TG could offer me a similar front-end experience. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
