As said above, I'm using daemon mode. I used the term "worker threads" to refer to what is set by the "threads" configuration variable of the daemon mode. Perhaps there is another terminology. (no, these are not Apache worker threads of the worker MPM) By the way, in my experiments I wasn't looking at virtual memory (VSZ) but at resident memory (RSS).
