Hi guys, We just spent a certain amount of time wondering why overriding the limit in @paginate in TG1 didn't work. If you read http://docs.turbogears.org/1.0/PaginateDecorator you can see in the "@paginate() in Detail" section that it says to use allow_limit_override to do that.
However we eventually found this page : http://trac.turbogears.org/ticket/2318, telling us that doesn't work anymore in 1.0.8. Now, admittedly I should have checked trac for bugs first, but we'd never used @paginate before today (yes amazing isn't it ? in my beginners days I innocently coded my own pagination stuff by hand) and so I didn't realize it was a change in behaviour. So while I admit I should have researched the problem in trac, the docs should be updated when a change like that occurs. I know TG1 is not the priority here with TG2 out, but there are still quite a few of us who use it and the docs are sometimes obscure enough as it is so that they're not wrong on top of that. I'm sorry if I'm ranting, it's just sometimes it looks like since TG2 came out a lot of people don't care about the TG1 user base. I would have written a comment in the paginate page but comments are disabled. Anyway, it's not my intent to be a jerk, we were just very confused about this and could not find a reason for what was going. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
