Ok. Here's the magic abracadabra that someone saw fit not to document. To make it work, you download tgsetup.py
python tgsetup.py python tgsetup.py That's right. You run it twice! Now I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you only need to do that the first time you run tgsetup.py on a machine, but for the love of god will someone please update the turbogears.org installation instructions page to mention this. This kind of boneheaded oversight in the how-tow documentation leads to bad perception of quality and professionalism of the project. There is way too much software out there for anyone to learn the "oh we all know that" conventions. Nothing (NOTHING) is obvious. One stupid documentation mistake like that can stop people, and might even encourage them to use Grails or something!!! Basically, I'll go through projects and go: Does that one install as promised? Yes. Usable. Does that one install as promised? No. Not usable. If I wasn't already loyal to tg (largely because its original installation instructions and demos "just worked" which was refreshingly different), I'd be gone.--
