kid is definitely slower than genshi which is why I migrated in the
first place. Staying away from kid is definitely a good plan.

I guess, and I understand that keeping kid in the dependencies might
be a problem.
However since the widgets are dependent on kid and are part of tg1
when installed it seemed to me that it would make more sense to just
have kid installed by default.

I also realize new users are more likely to go for TG2 and this is
mostly an issue for legacy users. So a more explicit warning would
probably be enough.
