values as utf-8 strings, not as unicode. You should keep all data inside

My data is stored into the PostgreSQL database and I created it as:
create database jose ENCODING ='utf8';
do you mean that I should create it as:
create database jose ENCODING ='unicode'; ?

If you are loading the data from the db the problem might be that you
are using a String column in your model instead of a Unicode one

problem, because this column is defined as Unicode as you see below:
