I'm actually learning from your example where I left the comment<http://threebean.wordpress.com/2011/04/30/tutorial-melting-your-face-off-with-tw2-and-turbogears2-1/#comment-43>. I am using Genshi at the moment instead of Mako, but my template call to gridwidget is working as all of the html gets added to the page. What I do not get is any of the resources being requested from beyond the /resources/ url from my app.
