The only requirement that TG places on you for the upgrade is to add the
rendered json to your list of renderers (and then only if you are using
json). However, it's possible you will upgrade other packages, and those
packages could place problems on you.

Please, follow Diez's advice, and do the upgrade in a test environment, and
work your way through your testing plan. Make sure it works before you
deploy.
