Well, before I begin, I want to say that I need to change the subject. I've made it look like this is the whole picture for what's happening with TG2, and it's not. Alessandro has become an extension writing machine lately, for one. So, either I change the title (not sure to what yet), or people start using these threads as a way to chime in on what they did. Please, if I've left you out, say so here. TG2 is making some very good progress, and I want more people to know about it.
*What I Got Done Last Week *Well, last week was actually pretty good. I got the new book working at a decent level. It now reads directly from a new repository that was made specifically to handle tutorial applications. I used the existing code_ext.py as my base, and modified slightly. I'm pleased with the results, and hope you will be too. I also updated the 20 minute wiki tutorial. Please check it out at https://sourceforge.net/p/turbogears2/tg2docs/ci/cabc064b3184365e94b8808e29dc1ee654ea516f/tree/book/part1/wiki20.rst I also updated the installation documentation. I think it's now more straightforward, and ask people to review it at https://sourceforge.net/p/turbogears2/tg2docs/ci/cabc064b3184365e94b8808e29dc1ee654ea516f/tree/book/part1/install.rst There's several other .rst files in there worth checking out. The book's shape is finally coming together. *Where Are We Now* This week is where I finalize things prior to release. We're on track for release on August 17. Jenkins shows us being in good shape right now ( http://jenkins.turbogears.org/view/TurboGears%20Hosted/ ). *What Will Get Done This Week* I'm going to finish up the remaining documentation notes. This is going to involve an outline of the app to be developed for the book, as well as good documentation on how to contribute. Finally, I'm going to take the theme from the current docs, and apply it to the book. It looks good, and I want to continue using it. Once I have that done, I'm going to begin the release process. No later than Friday, I'll be doing the branch. Any last minute commits/issues, get them tested and pushed! Time is running out. I don't know of any reason we can't release on August 17. Hopefully nobody else does, either. I'd like to get 2.1.2 out the door. -- Michael J.
