I think their idea was that you replace (monkey-patch) the
cx_Oracle.makedsn function, e.g. in model.__init__.py like this:
makedsn = cx_Oracle.makedsn
cx_Oracle.makedsn = lambda *args, **kw: return makedsn(*args,
**kw).replace('SID','SERVICE_NAME')
And then everything should be fixed.
