I'm glad to see more options for deployment. Which one is the fastest? Is the performance increase such that it is worth switching from mod_proxy under Apache to something else?
When we switched the TG2 app on our project webserver, the performance increase was clearly noticeable, and I also noticed the difference in my productive TG1.5 apps. But I haven't made any exact benchmarks and maybe the differences only appeared because Apache was not tuned properly for use with mod_proxy. The benchmarks at http://nichol.as/benchmark-of-python-web-servers suggest that the CherryPy server itself should not be so bad. It also depends a lot on the type of your web app (number of visitors, speed of the pages themselves) whether changing the deployment option is worthwile. In any case you must make benchmarks and configure properly if performance is important for you.
